Hi, I’m Sarah — a lifelong animal lover and guardian, artist, with a soul-centred approach to life, healing, and animal husbandry. I am the woman behind The Soulful Sorrel. While my entrepreneurial journey began with a camera in hand and a heart bursting over the captivating beauty of horses, it has evolved into something much deeper: a calling to walk alongside animals and their humans through life’s most tender moments. It’s here where I still seek the beauty in the journey. It’s a profound gift to sit with someone and learn about their life experiences through their stories, values, and beliefs, all shaped by the twists and turns of life, love, loss, and grief.

My professional background includes over a decade of experience as an artist, graphic designer, photographer, brand development and marketing strategist for businesses, as well as global education. As a designer, I find myself on a lifelong quest to master the art of the creative brief. Coincidentally, the same skills needed for conversations that will shape a solid creative brief are also needed to take on my new clients as a Death Doula. I have a passion and sincere enjoyment for listening, learning, exploring with curiosity, absorbing the details and connecting the dots.

In my practice, I layer my lived experiences and the mindset of an artist and creator with daily holistic embodied practices, building upon the formal training I have received in Sacred Deathcare, as well as my certification as a Reiki Practitioner for both animals and people. This also includes my studies in herbal remedies, homeopathy, and aromatherapy for pets and life’s sacred transitions.
